Naturalists Mark & Marcia Wilson will present their live owl program sponsored by Chapman Sanctuary and Visny Woods. JOIN US ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2023 and get ready for some FUN with CLOSE-UP views of these incredible birds of prey! The Wilson's knowledge of owls & birds and their natural world is absolutely impressive! There is so much to know about the habits and habitats of these winged wonders; and Mark & Marcia Wilson have created a wonderful program that makes it a joyful educational experience. Highlights include a gorgeous photographic slide show, Q&A time and of course the LIVE OWLS! Together we will learn:

Marcia & Mark will introduce the audience to owls found in New England
as well other parts of the world.
LEARN TO HOOT LIKE AND OWL!
Experience a fun hooting lesson with lots of audience participation.
Marcia imitates the owls’ calls herself, paying special attention to the more common owls that we might actually hear in our area. Go for it and give us your best hoot!!
Next Marcia will bring out the LIVE OWLS!
With each owl perched securely on her hand, Marcia will walk out among us carrying some of these incredibly beautiful birds . There will be plenty of time for close-up views of the owls, photos and questions from the audience and budding naturalists.
Each owl presented has a permanent disability which prevents them from surviving on their own in the wild. These non-releasable owls are captivating ambassadors from the world of wildlife. The Wilsons are legally permitted by state and federal agencies to use live owls in their environmental educational programs.
As a wild bird sanctuary, CSVW is particularly thankful for their efforts in caring for these amazing animals.
